  • Howard Carter visited Cherry Class

Wed 01 May 2019 Miss Driver

Cherry Class had an exciting visitor this afternoon who was able to tell us the story of Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Not only did we learn lots of brand new history but the children also got to handle a wide range of real and replica artefacts. We enjoyed an Ancient Egyptian funeral game, involving running like ostriches in a relay race. Finally, we carried out our very own mummification and decorated scarab beetles. The children learned so much history and did not stop laughing all afternoon.

The children were filled with joy to play and share their learning with their families, and it is very beneficial for the children to reflect on their learning with an adult. I know the children thoroughly enjoyed their parents coming to visit so again thank you. Please have a look at all of the lovely photos from the afternoon on our class page :)
