Sycamore Class - Year 6
Welcome to Sycamore Class
We are a class of 27, Year 6 children.
This is us!
Spring Term Learning
Our learning context for the next two terms is entitled ‘World Firsts.’ This is a D.T. and Science topic where the children will be learning about famous inventors and scientists before becoming one themselves!
We will learn about the life and work of Stephen Hawking, and carry out an investigation into Hawking’s theories on black holes. We will find out about the life and work of Steve Jobs, James Dyson and Tim Berners-Lee and their development of new electronics and technologies. The children will then identify a problem that needs solving or something that needs improving, before coming up with the invention to solve it. After making a prototype of their invention, they will try to persuade a panel of dragons in the Dragons Den that theirs is the most useful invention.
