Welcome to Oak Class

Learning of the Week

  • This week we will be focusing on the nursery rhymes 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow' and 'Little Piggy Went to Market'.
  • In PSHE we will be thinking of strategies we can use to problem solve ourselves.
  • We will be looking at how the weather is changing and going on a Spring walk to see what signs of Spring we can spot.
  • In Maths we have been learning all about money; coin recognition, matching amounts and even counting in 2s! Thank you for the home observations we have recieved so far, we love hearing of all the clever things the children do at home.
  • We have now finished all of phase 3 phonics. The children have been introduced to all the sounds for this development stage. This week we will recap our learning of these sounds. The children will enter phase 4 shortly, where they will learn to read words with adjacent consonants.

We are the Reception children. We love learning through play and love being outside in our outdoor area. This term are learning context is called 'Once Upon a Rhyme.' We will be learning two rhymes a week and coming up with our own actions to make them into performances.
